WHERE WE STARTED
Selena realized her childhood dream of becoming a counselor after a successful career in financial management and insurance. Her journey was fueled by her own recovery from sexual psychological trauma, a terminal cancer diagnosis, and a marriage marked by emotional abuse. “I know from personal experience that, even in the face of adversity, it is possible to overcome challenges and transform our lives into what we truly desire.”
After gaining a BAppSocSci in Counseling in 2015, she founded HEART Collective. Her goal was to create an agency that supports the healing of families. Selena is passionate about helping women recover from the trauma of abuse.
As a mother of five and grandmother to six, family is central to Selena’s life. Her eldest child, Stacey, serves as the Practice Manager at HEART. Many therapists at HEART completed their training with Selena, fostering a welcoming team environment.
